A Consultation
with a Counsellor is
a one-off, initial appointment to allow you to talk through your
concerns and problems with an impartial counsellor who can help
you to decide whether ongoing counselling is the way forward for
you.
Your
consultation will be an hour long. You can attend by yourself or
with your partner, although if you are intending to come to
ongoing counselling together then it is advisable for you to
attend the consultation together.
Your counsellor
will be impartial and will listen to your worries and issues. He
or she will talk through with you your options and whether
Ongoing Counselling will be helpful for you.
Sometimes this
one-off session can be enough to open up communication again or
to help you resolve some of your worries and concerns and you
may feel further counselling is not necessary.
Alternatively,
you may feel that a series of ongoing
counselling
sessions would be of benefit to you. If you decide you would
like to return for further sessions you will be asked to fill
out a form specifying days and times that will be most
convenient to you for your subsequent sessions and you will be
put on our waiting list.
